Collection: Anna Maria Horner

Born in 1972, Anna Maria Horner was raised in a home steeped in artistic tradition, surrounded by her father’s paintings, her mother’s handiwork, and heirloom blankets from her grandmothers. This vibrant upbringing sparked a lifelong passion for design, from childhood weekends spent in fabric shops to creating custom wardrobes for her dolls out of family scrap trunks.

After earning an honors BFA in Drawing from the University of Tennessee in 1995, Anna Maria co-founded a handmade clothing shop with her mother. Designing and sewing garments for the boutique laid a strong foundation for her future in textiles and small business management.

By 2001, she was freelancing for gift and homewares companies, eventually catching the attention of FreeSpirit Fabrics' founder, Donna Wilder. Anna Maria’s debut fabric collection launched in 2005, instantly captivating global makers with its energetic color palettes and nostalgic yet fresh aesthetic. Teaching her self-taught quilting process has since taken her across the globe, continually fueling her artistic growth.

Today, Anna Maria serves as the lead artist and Design Director for Anna Maria Textiles, a division of Northcott. A multi-talented creator, she has authored four books spanning sewing, embroidery, and quilt-making, alongside self-publishing an extensive collection of needlework patterns.

As a mother of seven, Anna Maria draws endless inspiration from her family. She and her husband, Vince, split their time between Sydney, Australia, and Franklin, Tennessee, sharing their beautifully imperfect adventures in art, gardening, and home improvement on Instagram.
