Join us for a fun day working on a folk art quilt technique called a pinecone quilt. Our instructors have learned directly from the best, Ms. Betty Ford-Smith whose book is titled "Pinecone Quilts, keeping the tradition alive". The pinecone quilt is a 3 dimensional quilt using 5" squares. In class we will make a 12" sample (you can add borders) you can then turn into a framed piece, a pillow, or maybe even a quilt.
Birdsong will supply the doll needle, the handmade "pusher" the muslin background, and the classic 10 size embroidery thread, you provide the 5" squares. A good number of squares to begin with 80-100 5" squares.
