Stephanie is a passionate textile artist and entrepreneur whose unique fabric design journey began in 2008, rooted deeply in her love for painting. Long before she learned how to sew, Stephanie approached fabric design as a fine artist, meticulously hand-painting every concept. Balancing her creativity with raising three young daughters, she chose quick-drying acrylics as her primary medium, transforming blank canvases into vibrant, fabric-ready art.

Driven by a determination to introduce an independent, woman-owned business to the textile marketplace, Stephanie founded Frond Design Studios in 2012. As the industry embraced her expressive style, she began translating her fabrics into distinctive sewing and quilting projects. Frond Design Studios quickly became famous for its iconic, soulful floral motifs, which deeply resonated with a global community of makers. Stephanie continuously refined her craft by learning from expert seamstresses and studying the intricate details of vintage textiles at her mother’s quilt shop, where she worked for two decades.

Though Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1994, it wasn't until later that she fused this background with her textile work, using historical quilt traditions to push the boundaries of modern design. Eventually, the heavy administrative demands of managing a growing business pulled her away from her studio loft, leaving her longing to paint. This creative calling was beautifully restored through a strategic partnership with Northcott Fabrics. By handing over operational demands to Northcott's team, Stephanie has freed herself to answer the call of the canvas, ensuring a brilliant flow of new, art-driven collections for quilters worldwide.
